A Clinical Research Study for Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders

Flipping the Switch on Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders

Shallow breathing while you sleep shouldn’t shadow your entire day.

If you live with obesity hypoventilation syndrome or COPD-related hypoventilation, consider exploring your options through research.

About the NOCTAVA Study

The NOCTAVA Study is a clinical research study for adults with obesity hypoventilation syndrome or COPD-related hypoventilation. It is looking at whether an investigational medication may help support breathing during sleep.

During the study, participants will be placed by chance into 1 of 3 groups. Two groups will receive different doses of the investigational medication, and 1 group will receive a placebo, which looks like the investigational medication but has no active ingredients. Participants will take the tablets by mouth.

The study will last about 9 weeks and include up to 7 visits: 5 at the study center and 2 by phone. Two study center visits will require an overnight stay. Participants will complete a daily electronic diary at home, wear an activity-monitoring device from screening through Day 35, and use a separate small sleep-monitoring device for 2 nights during the week before each study center visit.
